Eric Clapton est un guitariste, chanteur et compositeur de blues et de rock britannique, né le 30 mars 1945 à Ripley, près de Londres.
Au printemps de l'année 1970, Eric Clapton forme Derek & The Dominos avec des membres de son ancien groupe Delaney and Bonnie and Friends. Le groupe est alors composé de Bobby Whitlock (clavier, chant), Carl Radle (basse) et Jim Gordon (batterie).
En 2011, le mensuel Rolling Stone l'a classé quatrième meilleur guitariste de tous les temps. Ses fans le surnomment « God » (Dieu).
Il est le seul artiste à avoir été intronisé à trois reprises au sein du Rock and Roll Hall of Fame : une fois en tant qu'artiste solo puis en tant que membre de The Yardbirds et de Cream.
