Kova Rea

Of Martinican descent, Kova Rea began by composing his own songs. In 1980, he appeared in Claude Lelouch’s film Les Uns et les Autres and in Jean Yanne’s Moi y'en a vouloir des sous. He became a revue leader in various shows at the Paradis Latin from 1980 to 1985, as well as at Bobino, a role which was complemented by a position as a choreographer in various musical shows on the Rue de la Gaîté.

In 1982, he joined the Martinique-based group “African Magic Combo”, before becoming a backing singer for Bernard Lavilliers in 1985.

In 1988, he released his first solo album, Les Festivités, produced by the Phonogram label, followed by a second in 1990: Pas de limites. In 1992, he recorded Serre-moi as a duet with Joelle Ursull.

He became… an events producer and organised numerous artistic performances in various venues across Paris, including the Palais de Congrès and the Palais des Sports.
