Whilst the musicians are the same and the philosophy is identical (a sort of ‘know thyself and do it yourself’), Утро (Utro, The Morning) is more than just a side project by the Russian band Motorama.

When asked about this, following the release of the album ‘Calendar’ (2012), Vladislav Parshin told Magic magazine that he had a ‘fairly substantial stockpile of obscure, atmospheric demos that no longer fitted with the aesthetic direction Motorama had taken’.

A darker, more experimental and colder side to their music, sung in their native language. With a minimalist approach to music, existentialist lyrics and incantations, the Slavic language takes centre stage in Утро’s work, as it allows the musicians to express the very essence of their thoughts.
