Age Of Love

Biography

Age of Love is regarded as one of the first trance bands.

It consists of Bruno Sanchioni (BBE) and Giuseppe Cherchia, better known by his stage name Pino d'Angiò (a friend and collaborator of Emmanuel Top, who went by the stage name Brainwave in the very early 1990s when house, techno and trance first emerged in Europe) at Diki Studio (Diki Records) in Mouscron, Belgium.

The eponymous vinyl EPs, featuring The Age Of Love (Radio Version) / The Age Of Love (Flying Mix) and The Age Of Love (New Age Mix) / The Age Of Love (Boeing Mix) from 1990 – composed during the ‘Second Summer of Love’ – are tracks reminiscent of new beat and progressive house, released at the height of the acid house wave and which, at the same time, constitute the true musical foundation of trance’s first ten years.

It was remixed in 1992 by the duo Jam & Spoon (Jam El Mar and Mark Spoon) with the ‘Watch Out For Stella (Club Mix)’, which brought it to the fore and even made it more popular than the original track released in 1990 across the length and breadth of Europe. These two tracks are essential listening for discerning fans of techno, trance and electronic music.

To this day, the track continues to be remixed and featured on compilations. In August 2013, the Discogs website database listed a total of 87 known versions in its catalogue, and 346 appearances on compilations.
