Biography
Jali, born in Kigali, Rwanda, on 20 September 1988, is a Belgian singer, songwriter and composer of folk music and French-language songs. He plays the acoustic guitar to accompany his songs.
Jali chose his stage name in reference to the name of a hill in Rwanda. He released his first single, ‘Española’, in June 2011, followed in October 2011 by an album on the Barclay-Universal label entitled ‘Des jours et des lunes’.
In February 2012, Jali won the ‘Artiste de l'année’ award at the Octaves de la musique, Belgium’s equivalent of France’s Victoires de la musique. His album Des jours et des lunes was certified gold in Belgium in September 2012.
In 2014, Jali was chosen as a coach for series 4 of *The Voice Belgique* alongside BJ Scott, Chimène Badi and Stanislas. On 12 October 2014, he released Pars, the first single from his new album due out in 2015.
