*Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin* is the band’s first and only official illustrated book. Published to mark the 50th anniversary of the band’s formation, it is the result of a direct collaboration between Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones.
Organised chronologically, this unique 400-page volume contains hundreds of images, including numerous previously unpublished documents from the personal collections of Led Zeppelin’s members and the Atlantic Records archives. Excerpts from diaries, photographs, portraits, contact sheets, reproductions of posters, concert tickets and album covers: the book’s exceptional visual content brings together over 700 images spanning all periods of the band’s history, with contributions from some of the greatest photographers: Carl Dunn, Bob Gruen, Ross Halfin, Terry O’Neill, Neal Preston and many others.
This incredible visual odyssey is accompanied by 20 pages of annotations, interviews and exclusive commentary written by the members of Led Zep, with the book opening with prologues by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and the late John Bonham, who tragically passed away in 1980.
