He is one of the world’s greatest rock stars, and it’s been that way for almost forty years! Capable of writing the most beautiful, intimate ballads as well as getting an entire stadium on its feet, Elton John is tireless. Whether on stage, in the studio or through his work in the fight against AIDS, Elton exudes an energy that is always infectious. At once a crooner, an entertainer, a romantic and a provocateur, he is the UK’s best-known artist; he has rubbed shoulders with the greatest and has even been knighted by the Queen. Several generations hum along to ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’, ‘Song for Guy’ or ‘Candle in the Wind’ – melodies that have all become immortal. From A for Aida to Z for Zizanie, this MusicBook traces Sir Reginald’s remarkable journey.
