Biographie

Les Talking Heads sont un groupe américain de rock composé de David Byrne (chant, guitare), Chris Frantz (batterie), Tina Weymouth (basse) et Jerry Harrison (guitare, claviers). Tina et Chris développeront en parallèle le projet musical Tom Tom Club.

Issu de la scène punk de New York et associé plus tard au mouvements post-punk et new wave, le groupe a existé entre 1974 et 1991 et notamment joué au CBGB’s aux côtés de groupes tels que les Ramones, Television ou Patti Smith.

Le style musical new wave de Talking Heads combine des éléments de punk, avant-garde, pop, funk, world music et d'art rock. Le chanteur-compositeur David Byrne apporte des paroles ésotériques et fantasques aux chansons du groupe et accentue leur côté spectaculaire par son apport multimédia.

En 2002, le groupe entre au Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
